Exam Syllabus For RBI Grade B officers Recruitment Exam


Syllabus for Grade B recruitment of Officers in reserve bank of India are mentioned. Selection in RBI Grade B Officers will be through Written Examinations (WE) and Interview. ‘WE’ will be held in two phases as under:

(I) Phase I (Objective Type Test) :
This Paper of 3 hours duration for 200 marks will be held on Sunday, the February 6, 2011. The Paper consists tests of i) General Awareness ii) English Language iii) Quantitative Aptitude and iv) Reasoning. Candidates have to secure minimum marks separately for each test as prescribed by the Board. Candidates who secure minimum marks separately for each Test as prescribed will be shortlisted for Phase II of the ‘WE’ based on the aggregate marks obtained in the Objective Test.
The minimum aggregate cut off marks for being shortlisted for Phase II of the WE will be decided by the Board in relation to the number of vacancies. Roll No. of the candidates successful in Phase I of the WE are likely to be published around March/April 2011 in Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar and on the RBI website and a brief notice thereof in leading newspapers.
Phase II (Descriptive Type Test):
The Phase II Examination will be conducted in May/ June 2011(tentative) only for those candidates who are successful in Phase I (Objective Type Test). The date and time-table will be intimated to the candidates concerned at the appropriate time.
The Examination will consist of three Descriptive Type papers –
(i) Paper I – English (ii) Paper II – Economic and Social Issues and (iii) Paper III – Finance and Management. Each of these papers is of 3 hours duration carrying 100 marks.
NOTE : Phase I (except the test of English) and Papers II and III of Phase II will be set bilingually in Hindi and English. Phase I is Objective Type and only marking the correct choice is required. However, Papers II and III of Phase II can be answered either wholly in Hindi or English at the candidate’s option.
(III) Syllabus (Phase II) :

(ii) Paper II – Economic and Social Issues: Growth and Development – Measurement of growth : National Income and per capita income – Poverty Alleviation and Employment Generation in India – Sustainable Development and Environmental issues. Economic Reforms in India – Industrial and Labour Policy – Monetary and Fiscal Policy – Privatisation – Role of Economic Planning. Globalization – Opening up of the Indian Economy – Balance of Payments, Export-Import Policy – International Economic Institutions – IMF and World Bank – WTO – Regional Economic Co-operation. Social Structure in India – Multiculturalism – Demographic Trends – Urbanisation and Migration – Gender Issues – Social Justice : Positive Discrimination in favour of the under privileged – Social Movements – Indian Political System – Human Development – Social Sectors in India, Health and Education.
(iii) Paper III – Finance and Management :
Finance : The Union Budget – Direct and Indirect taxes; Non-tax sources of revenue; Outlays; New Measures; Financial Sector Reforms; Capital Market, Money Market and Foreign Exchange Market; Stock Exchanges and their Regulation; Capital Market Intermediaries and their Regulation; Role of SEBI; Functions of the Money Market; Growth and Operation of the Money Market; The Foreign Exchange Market; From FERA to FEMA; Exchange Rate Management; Exchange Risk Management; Role of Banks and Financial Institutions in Economic Development; Regulation of Banks and Financial Institutions;
Disinvestment in Public Sector Units.
Management : Management: its nature and scope; The Management Processes; Planning Organisation, Staffing, Directing and Controlling; The Role of a Manager in an Organisation. NOTE : The questions in Papers II and III will be basic in nature. Candidates will be short-listed for interview based on the aggregate marks obtained only in Phase II – Papers I, II and III.
The minimum cut off marks for being short-listed for interview will be decided by the Board in relation to the number of vacancies. Candidates may answer the Interview either in Hindi or English at their option. Final selection will be based on the performance of the candidate in Phase II of the ‘WE’ and Interview.

CLAT Syllabus 2011


CLAT Paper Pattern for Undergraduate Programme:

Total Marks:- 200

Total number of questions :- 200

Duration :- Two Hours

Subjects:

English including Comprehension - (40 Marks):-
The English section will test the candidate’s proficiency in English based comprehension passages and grammar. In the comprehension section, candidates will be questioned on their understanding of the passage and its central theme, meanings of words used therein etc. The grammar section requires correction of incorrect grammatical sentences, filling in of blanks in sentences with appropriate words, etc.

General Knowledge/ Current Affairs - (50 Marks):- This section will only test students on their knowledge of current affairs (broadly defined as matters featuring in the mainstream media

Mathematics - (20 Marks):- This section will test candidates only on “elementary” mathematics i.e. maths that is taught till the class 10.

Logical Reasoning - (45 Marks):- The purpose of the logical reasoning section is to test the student’s ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. It will include a wide variety of logical reasoning questions such as syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, etc.

Legal Aptitude/Legal Awareness - (45 Marks):- This section will test students only on “legal aptitude”. Questions will be framed with the help of legal propositions (described in the paper)


CLAT 2011 Paper Pattern for Postgraduate Programme:-

The process for recruitment to the post of Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) in the Rajya Sabha Secretariat consists of three stages --


1. Preliminary Examination

1 Preliminary Examination (Objective Type-Multiple choice answers)


The Preliminary Examination is a screening test for selection of candidates for the skill test and is of objective type. It consists of only one paper of 100 marks (Duration 1 hour 30 minutes) which will contain questions on the subjects as indicated below:

The syllabus of the Preliminary Examination (Objective type) and the Skill Test for recruitment to the post of Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) is as under:

Preliminary Examination

General Awareness, General Intelligence, Elementary Maths, General English, General Hindi and Driving Techniques and Motor Car Mechanism

There will be questions on General Awareness, General Intelligence, Elementary Maths and General English & Hindi. Questions on Driving Technique & Motor Car Mechanism shall aim at testing the candidate's knowledge of driving skills and procedures, duties of drivers, fuel efficiency and fuel economy, basic maintenance of the vehicle, servicing, emergency handling techniques, tools and documents required with the vehicle, types of vehicles, traffic Rules & Regulations, ability to recognize traffic signals, traffic signs, hand signals and road markings, simple queries about the assemblies of vehicle systems, etc.

Skill Test

This test will assess the candidate's driving skills and test his/her knowledge of motor driving, motor mechanics and traffic rules & regulations.
 

Rajya Sabha Secretariat Security Assistant Grade-II Scheme of Exam

# This test is only of qualifying nature and candidates are declared either 'fit' or 'unfit'.

# In case of high jump and long jump, a candidate is given three chances to clear the event.


# If a candidate is not able to qualify in any event of the Physical Fitness Test, he is not allowed to take part in the subsequent events/stages of the examination process.

3. Main Examination (Descriptive Type)

General Awareness

Questions shall aim at testing the candidate's awareness of current events and environment around him/her besides testing the knowledge of Everyday Science, Scientific Research, Sports, Indian Culture, Indian History, Indian Geography, Economics, Indian Polity, Indian Constitution, etc.

English Language

Questions in this component are designed to test the candidates understanding, correct usage and knowledge of English Language and will be based on error recognition, fill in the blanks (using Verbs, Prepositions etc.), vocabulary, spellings, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, sentence completion, phrases and idioms, etc.


Main Examination

Paper I: English Language

This paper will test the skills and abilities of the candidate in Essay Writing, Precis Writing, Comprehension, Drafting of letters/notices/other forms of communications in English.

Candidates have to qualify both papers of the Written Test and components thereof at the requisite standards to be determined by Recruitment Cell.Only those candidates who qualify the Written Test will be allowed to appear in the Simultaneous Interpretation test. 4. Interview (40 marks)

5. Merit List

Merit List will be prepared based on the overall marks obtained in Oration Test(100 marks), Written Test (260 marks), Simultaneous Interpretation Test (100 marks) and the Interview (40 marks). Candidates eliminated at any stage of recruitment process would not be included in the final merit list.

The other questions in the paper shall test the candidate's translation skills, his/her knowledge of the Regional Language, including familiarity with Parliamentary expressions, language used in Parliamentary debates and discussions and his/her knowledge of the general phrases/terminologies etc. The paper shall also test his/her ability to write the regional language correctly, precisely and effectively.
